No obvious labels.
No recognizable branding.
No instructions.
No clues.
Just an oddly shaped object that looked like it belonged somewhere important.
Yet neither of us had ever seen it before.
The Guessing Game Begins
Like any reasonable people facing a minor mystery, we immediately started making wild guesses.
"It's probably some kind of beauty tool," I said.
"For what?"
"I don't know."
She examined it carefully.
"It doesn't look like anything I've ever used."
That only deepened the mystery.
If it wasn't a beauty product, why was it in the bathroom?
Maybe it belonged to a household appliance.
Maybe it was part of a cleaning device.
Maybe it had fallen off something.
Maybe it wasn't even supposed to be there.
Every possibility seemed equally plausible.
And equally wrong.

Eventually we did what everyone does when faced with an unanswerable question.
