Ethan put another bag down harder than necessary.
“Are you checking up on me now?”
“We needed formula. I wanted to know how far away you were.”
“Well, I got it.”
Theo started crying too.
Ethan picked up a bottle.
“I’m stressed, Nora.”
He walked toward the baby.
“Every time I come home, there’s some new crisis.”
I stared at him.
“I asked about your location.”
“Can we just feed the boys without turning this into another problem?”
And somehow—
I became the unreasonable one.
THEN IT KEPT HAPPENING
Over the following days, Ethan’s location disappeared so consistently that I could almost predict it.
Perfectly visible while he was inside our house.
Gone shortly after he drove away.
I checked every setting I could think of.
Nothing explained it.
One evening, as he reached for his keys, I held out my phone.
“Your location is working right now.”
