The Osmond name remains alive because of the work of generations of the family.
Alan was one of the people who built that foundation.
Final Thoughts
Alan Osmond's life was much larger than the headline announcing his death.
“Eldest Osmond brother dies at 76” tells us what happened.
It does not tell us what he gave.
It does not tell us about the boy from Utah who began singing with his brothers.
It does not tell us about the young man who helped guide his family into international fame.
It does not tell us about the songwriter behind some of the Osmonds' best-known recordings.
It does not tell us about the producer who helped develop his siblings' television careers.
It does not tell us about the husband and father who built a family of his own.
And it certainly does not tell us about the man who lived for nearly four decades with multiple sclerosis while continuing to find reasons for hope.
